Golden sandy beaches

Although the resort has grown over the last twenty years —it now stretches along the whole 6 kilometres of golden sandy beaches— the town has been saved from the high-rise buildings that blight so many other destinations due to the strict planning restrictions.

The main street The Aviendas stretches 5 miles along the coast with lovely clean sandy beaches on one side and plenty of restaurants, bars and shops running along the other side. The largest beach on the Island Playa Grande lies on this stretch of coast. Take an early morning or sunset stroll along the beach or maybe just bask in the sun, all the beaches along this stretch of coast fly the Blue Flag awarded by the EU for cleanliness. The beaches are well maintained, cleaned regularly and offer all of the usual facilities, such as loungers, sun shades and toilets.
